GIPHY helps people express themselves and make their everyday conversations more entertaining. GIPHY acknowledges the lived experiences and values the perspectives of our team members and users from historically marginalized communities* by aiming to embrace different identities, access requirements, and socioeconomic statuses. These acknowledgments help us try to proactively reduce individual, institutional and systemic barriers and work towards increasing accountability, healing, and safety for those impacted. We aim to make informed decisions and build products with advocacy top of mind.

Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, & Inclusion (DEAI)
At GIPHY, “Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, & Inclusion” are four specific, and interconnected, commitments we pledge to members of historically marginalized communities among our staff, users, and collaborators. These definitions are ever-evolving and require periodic review and updating to reflect real-time social progress.
Areas of the following definitions are aspirational–we may not have the resources or ability to achieve all of these goals yet, and we're actively working on them.
Diversity - GIPHY aims to actively include and authentically represent historically marginalized communities everywhere that GIPHY touches, from our original content to our teams to our product design and our external collaborators. We commit to support historically marginalized communities, who continue to be either underrepresented or stereotyped.
Equity -Internally, GIPHY aims to hire individuals from historically marginalized communities and will always give them every opportunity to be promoted to leadership positions. Externally, on the GIPHY platform, it means taking into consideration historically marginalized communities in our content, products, and among our external collaborators. This includes equitable compensation for work provided, both for our staff and in all external collaborations.
Accessibility - GIPHY aims to ensure our physical and digital spaces (products), as well as our hiring and day-to-day processes meet the needs of employees and users. We aim to prioritize accessibility and meet reasonable accommodations such as necessary software, building access, universal design and other access requirements for Neurodiverse individuals and those with mental and physical disabilities. Accessibility is a meaningful priority in our commitments to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Inclusion - GIPHY aims to have individuals from marginalized communities and their voices at the proverbial GIPHY table. We would like for people to be able to find themselves and their interests in GIPHY’s products, provided they do not perpetuate harm*.
Glossary of terms:
• Do not perpetuate harm means avoiding exposing people to additional risk, harm, or violence, through actions that may perpetuate systemic or structural bias or violence (in accordance with our Trust & Safety policies and Community Guidelines).
• Products refers to anything GIPHY makes for its users, including the tools on our website and Content.
• Content refers to anything publicly searchable made by GIPHY in-house, through collaborations with partners, or user generated content, put onto our website and our API. These include our GIFs, Stickers and Clips you may use on social media or in messaging apps!!
