How are GIF and Sticker Views counted?
A view is counted every time a GIF or sticker has been served through GIPHY’s services or technology. A single view is counted when a GIF is served, regardless of how many times it loops. A GIF view on GIPHY is a sign of relevance, share-ability, and popularity.
Can I see how often people use my GIFs and Stickers?
Our Verified Channels have access to a metric called Engagement Rate within GIPHYs analytics tools. This metric is a measurement of how often the GIPHY Audience is engaging with your GIF or Sticker when it is shown in GIPHY Search Results.
How are Story Reads counted?
Story reads are counted when users open a GIPHY Story and 'read' up to the first GIF or Sticker in your story.
What is the difference between a View and a Read?
Views are counted every time a piece of content is served while a Read requires the user to not only open a story but also watch the first GIF in it, so this metric evidences a higher level of investment than our Views metric.
What is a Clip View?
Clips Views represent the total number of times that a Clip (or thumbnail of a Clip) is shown to a user - in a feed, in search results, when shared outside of GIPHY, etc. Clip Views on GIPHY are only available after 4/30/2021.
What are Clips Starts
A Clip Start is counted each time a Clip is played. This can be either autoplay or click to play, both on GIPHY O+O as well as in our distributed network. Only one Start is counted, regardless of how many times the Clip is looped. Clip starts are a sign of relevance, share-ability and popularity.
How do Search Insights work?
Search Insights refers to the single assigned search term that users searched most to engage with your content. Search Insights are located on the "All Time" view towards the bottom of your dashboard. Search insights are available from October 2019 onward and are only available on select content. They are refreshed daily.
Why Do My Search Insights Show Tags I Deleted?
If you remove a tag on a Sticker or GIF, the content will be removed from that search however it may still remain in your Search Insights. The insights you are seeing reflect the activity during the time the tag was active however once you delete a tag, you can expect other tags to take the lead, giving new tags the opportunity to surpass deleted tags. What is Engagement Rate Data?
Your GIFs and Stickers are shown in multiple search results on GIPHY. The engagement rate report shows how often your content was clicked on when it was displayed in each of those search terms. This data is intended to illustrate how GIPHY users are engaging with your content when they find it in different spaces within GIPHY Search. To access engagement rates go to your dashboard, scroll down the page and click ‘Download Full CSV’ to download a robust analytics report containing your engagement rate data.
How is Engagement Rate Calculated?
Engagement rate is a metric to track how actively involved the GIPHY audience is with your GIF and Sticker content. Engagement rate on GIPHY is calculated by tracking how many times a user selects your GIF or Sticker (via Trending Feed or Search) to share over how many times the GIF or Sticker was viewed. Read more about what a GIF views means here. Every time a piece of content is served and selected to send or share, this is counted as an engagement.
Why is the CSV blank?
The data shared is only from November 1st 2019 through present day. Engagement data is only collected from a sample of our integrations. If you download your .csv and there are no results for engagement data, this means that piece of content was not engaged with that sample of partners during that time. However, view counts are representative of our entire network.
