What are Suggested tags?
Suggested tags refers to the additional tagging module that appears on some channels when adding tags to a GIF or Sticker. The module uses metadata from GIPHY’s database to suggest new tags for your GIFs and Stickers.
How do I use Suggested tags?
Enter a single tag and if Suggested tags exist, they will populate in the Suggested tags module. Hover over a Suggested tag until it turns green, then click the tag to add it to your content. Alternatively, hover over the X on the Suggested tag until it turns red, and select it to remove the tag from your suggestions.
Why should I use Suggested tags?
Suggested tags makes it faster to see terms that may be related to the content you are tagging. Adding tags can help your GIF show up in more searches for that tag however irrelevant tags can hurt your content performance because it will show up in irrelevant searches. The appearance of a Suggested tag does not mean that the tag is highly trafficked or that it is the best tag for the content you are uploading. Use your discretion to select Suggested tags only when they are truly relevant. Visit our Tagging Best Practices for more tips.
Where are Suggested tags supported?
The Suggested tags module will appear in the Bulk Editor and on Upload for available accounts. To use Suggested tags you must be logged into GIPHY using a desktop computer. The product is currently only available for verified channels.
